COUNSELLING
Traditional talking therapies provide time and space for the client to be heard in a non judgmental way. With professional
support you can find ways of coming to terms with life events, past and present.
Often when we are confused and unhappy life is a struggle. Being listened to and helped to come to a new understand of
what is happening for you can be an uplifting experience.
Mary offers professional confidential support, long and short term and works with a variety of life events.
Relationship difficulties, bereavement, domestic violence, childhood abuse, stress and anxiety, trauma, work place issues
and more.
Mary is happy to offer a preliminary talk on the telephone to assist you in making a decision about your therapy.
Having worked as a counsellor since 1996, and expanding her experience and professional knowledge down through the years,
has meant she can draw on a wealth of resources and understanding.
Her relaxation CD Restful Moments has received positive feedback in helping to reduce stress levels.
She works in a private setting as well as in the corporate world. Is a member of The British Association of Counselling and
Psychotherapy and works within their Ethical Framework of Good Practice. In 2011 she was awarded a Certificate of Proficiency
by BACP and is an Accredited member of the Counselling Society.
SUPPORT AND INTERVENTION IN THE CORPORATE WORLD
Mary is a trained Critical Incident de-briefer working within the guidelines laid down by NICE.
She provides an initial group educational meeting regarding the reason she is on site and how in her role,
staff can be supported and helped.
Staff then have a choice as to whether they would like to have individual sessions.
Mary has many years of experience working in corporate settings and is skilled in liaising with managers and staff
and providing professional, confidential support, clinical assessments and onward referrals where appropriate.
She is adaptable in her work, has a strong awareness of boundaries and provides a professional approach at all times.
It has been recognised that having on site intervention at the appropriate time can assist in reducing the levels of
stress and anxiety experienced.
Often these types of incidents resurrect other life experiences and Mary is skilled and competent at working with the
client to help them understand what is happening, normalise the reactions to the event and what type of onward support
may be helpful.
Incidents may be: fatalities, suicides, redundancies, re-organisation, or other life changing experiences. Any incident
that disrupts staff emotionally and psychologically would benefit from this professional intervention.
Confidentiality between managers and staff is of prime importance.
Mary has an Enhanced Criminal Record Certificate (Proof that no criminal record is recorded) and Public Liability Insurance.
